DNC Parks & Resorts at Yosemite operates five High Sierra Camps, which are spaced 5.7 to 10 miles apart along a loop trail in Yosemite"s beautiful high country. All lodging is in canvas tent cabins that have dormitory-style steel frame beds with mattresses, pillows, woolen blankets and comforters. Hot showers, soap and restroom facilities are available. However, guests must provide their own sheets or sleep-sacks and towels. Sleep-sacks and Trek Towels can be purchased through Yosemite Concession Services Corporation mail order for confirmed High Camp guests. Due to high demand, High Sierra camps are reserved on a lottery basis. Applications are available October 15 to November 30 annually.

In addition, there are two small group campsites (sites 10 ("Dbl2") and 11 ("Dbl3") that can accommodate seven to 12 people each, and one double campsite ("Dbl1," shown as sites 6 and 8 on the map), that can accommodate up to 12 people (total). The cost for each group campsite or for the double campsite is $30.

Campsites 3, 5, and 14 are suitable for wheelchairs and have power outlets for charging electric wheelchairs; however, this supply is not adequate for life-support systems, such as oxygen machines. Picnic tables at these sites have extended tops. The main road serves as the access route to the restrooms.

Camp 4 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its nationally significant role in the development of rock climbing as a sport.

How to register at Camp 4
From spring through fall, a campground ranger staffs Camp 4 each day. You must register with the ranger in order to stay at Camp 4. The ranger arrives at the campground kiosk around 8:30 am, although, a line has often formed well before then and the campground may fill before everyone in line is registered. Space is available on a per-person basis and each person wishing to register must be present. Six people will be assigned to each campsite; people in one group may be assigned to different campsites.
