Last year Ride reduced the weight to enhance the overall power-to-weight response, but this year they optimized the comfort and customization with a new Custom Balance Footbed. It's a lightweight dampening system with fully adjustable height and canting in all directions. The Ride Custom Balance Footbed has full-length EVA padding and integrated landing pads to absorb shock and vibration. Low-profile urethane dampeners go the extra distance to filter out the unsettling stuff. Other nice refinements include a new Balance Gel Ankle Strap with a tool-free center adjustment. The CAD does retain its high-energy Response R2 Chassis System with adjustable, lightweight composite heel cup. Along the straps you'll find Ride's Revolver Grip Zone Ratchet closures, patented barrel ratchets that provide four to five clicks per throw, a cranking performance that ranks among the most powerful on the market. The Revolver Grip Zone Ratchet release system is even faster than before and allows for smooth exits in seconds. You'll also find Ride's Convertible TL Toe Strap, so you can cinch down the fit over the top or in front of your snowboarding boots. The Convertible TLs offer the advantage for centering over the toe of the boot without having to worry about tools, so you can adjust the fit on the slopes without breaking out the portable snowboard tools.
